Our Texture Application Process
6 step process to make your home more beautiful
Step 1
Good Morning!
We typically arrive at 8:30am, but will show-up at a time that best fits your schedule. Our crew will introduce themselves, take off their shoes, and re-confirm the day’s plan (double-checking colours, contractual elements, and any final details).
If you like, we’re happy to bring donuts.
Step 2
Cover & Protect
After you (or our team) have gently moved any items (deck furniture, toys, garden equipment, etc.), we’ll cover anything needing protection: even that rosebush pressing-up against the side of the wall. We’ll cover floors and walkways with drop cloths to prevent drips and spills.
If you need to leave for work, we’ll wish you a great day!
Step 3
Prep
The most important part of every job is the prep! We’ll deal with any areas of failing paint with scrapers and sanders to minimize contour lines, then we’ll prime bare wood and seal the area to prevent moisture penetration. Depending on the area, we may need to caulk cracks & openings before starting the top coat.
Pro-tip: even if you don’t use My Wail Fashion, please make sure your contractors incorporate this step, or else the end result may not meet your expectations.
Step 4
Time to Paint!
Whether we’re painting siding or soffits, downspouts or windows, we’re highly experienced with all types of paint application. And for every job, we’ll apply two coats of premium exterior paint.
Frequently asked question time!
You might ask: “Can’t we just get away with a single coat?” You can, but the benefit of two coats significantly outweighs the risk of only one. With two coats, you’ll fully cover primed areas, reduce texture, and get a more consistent finish. Most importantly, the job will last longer.
All My Wail Fashion exterior work comes with a 3-year warranty for jobs with two coats of paint.
Step 5
The Daily Check-in
With My Wail Fashion, you’re always “in the know!” We’ll touch base at the end of every day (either in-person or via written progress reports on the kitchen counter) to let you know what we’ve accomplished, when we’ll be arriving next, and what we’ll be doing. We wrap every day with a full clean-up!
By making sure you’re absolutely satisfied every step of the way, we’re able to address and tackle any items as they arise. Didn’t Tom Brady say something similar?
Step 6
The Final Day!
On the last day of the job, we’ll walk through the space with you for a final inspection. Given our ongoing communication throughout the process, this is typically a smooth and swift final step. After the job is approved and accounts are settled, you can kick-back, relax, and enjoy your stunning new look!
Our crew will provide a full clean-up and remove all equipment from your property. Remember: we don’t ask for a final payment until you’re completely satisfied!
